1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Carriage's platform, website, or services (collectively, the "Services"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our Services.

These Terms form a legally binding agreement between you and Carriage. Please read them carefully before using our platform.

2. About Carriage

Carriage is a digital platform based in Singapore that supports family caregivers by connecting them with:

Carriage is a facilitating platform. We are not a medical institution, hospital, or registered healthcare provider under the Private Hospitals and Medical Clinics Act or any other healthcare legislation in Singapore. Our Care Professionals are independent licensed practitioners who provide services through our platform.

3. Beta Service

Carriage is currently in beta. This means:

We appreciate your patience and feedback as we build Carriage. By using our beta platform, you acknowledge these limitations and agree not to hold Carriage liable for interruptions or changes to the service during this phase.

4. Eligibility

To use Carriage's Services, you must:

If you are registering on behalf of an organisation or employer, you warrant that you have authority to bind that organisation to these Terms.

5. Not an Emergency Service

Carriage is not an emergency or crisis service. If you or someone you know is in immediate danger or experiencing a mental health crisis, please call 999 (Police) or 995 (Ambulance), or contact the Samaritans of Singapore at 1767 (24 hours).

Our services are intended for ongoing caregiving support, not acute crisis intervention. Care Professionals on our platform are not on-call emergency responders and cannot guarantee immediate availability outside of scheduled sessions.

6. Our Care Professionals

Carriage connects you with Care Professionals who are independently licensed practitioners. All Care Professionals on our platform are required to hold valid professional registrations or accreditations recognised in Singapore, which may include:

Carriage verifies credentials at the point of onboarding but does not provide ongoing supervision of Care Professionals' clinical practice. The therapeutic relationship is between you and your Care Professional.

Care Professionals may, in accordance with their professional and legal obligations, be required to break confidentiality in limited circumstances — including where there is serious risk of harm to you or others, or where required by Singapore law (e.g. the Mental Health (Care and Treatment) Act).

7. Confidentiality

All Care Professionals on our platform are bound by professional confidentiality obligations under their respective professional codes of ethics. Information shared in your sessions is treated as confidential, subject to the limited exceptions described in Section 6.

Carriage itself does not access session content. Our handling of your personal data is governed by our Privacy Policy, which complies with Singapore's PDPA.

You agree not to record sessions without the explicit consent of your Care Professional, and not to share session content in a manner that could identify your Care Professional without their consent.

8. Subsidies & Payments

Carriage facilitates access to caregiving-related financial support, including:

Eligibility for subsidies is determined by the relevant government authority or employer, not by Carriage. We make reasonable efforts to guide you through applicable schemes but cannot guarantee subsidy approval.

Session fees, payment terms, and any applicable subsidies will be communicated to you clearly before you confirm a booking. All prices are in Singapore Dollars (SGD) unless otherwise stated.

As a beta platform, our pricing and subsidy integration are still being finalised and may change. We will communicate any changes with reasonable notice.

9. User Conduct

You agree to use Carriage's Services in good faith and in accordance with these Terms. You must not:

Carriage reserves the right to suspend or terminate your access if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms.

10. Intellectual Property

All content on the Carriage platform — including text, design, graphics, software, and brand elements — is owned by or licensed to Carriage and protected under Singapore's Copyright Act 2021 and applicable intellectual property laws.

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access and use the platform for personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms. Nothing in these Terms transfers any intellectual property rights to you.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

Carriage's Services are provided "as is" and "as available", particularly during our beta phase. To the fullest extent permitted by Singapore law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including:

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded under Singapore law, including under the Consumer Protection (Fair Trading) Act.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Singapore law, Carriage will not be liable for:

Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability to you in respect of any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the three (3) months preceding the claim.

13. Termination

You may stop using Carriage's Services at any time by deactivating your account. We will handle your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy upon account closure.

Carriage may suspend or terminate your access to the platform if:

Termination does not affect any rights or obligations that arose before termination.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Singapore. Any disputes arising from or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Singapore courts, unless otherwise required by mandatory applicable law.

We encourage users to reach out to us directly to resolve any concerns before pursuing formal dispute resolution.

15. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time, particularly as our platform develops beyond beta. When we make material changes, we will:

Your continued use of the Services after the effective date of updated Terms constitutes acceptance of those Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, please discontinue use and contact us to close your account.
